Brewer (Earle)
The rolling landscape of Earle Brewer Park makes the disc golf course challenging and interesting.
Caledonia Lakeside
Caledonia Lakeside Park has a beautiful view of Lake Emmons from the shelterhouse porch. There are no swimming areas at this park but fishing is permitted.
Chief Hazy Cloud
This 120 acre park is a great fishing spot, especially for silvercats and small mouth bass.
Coldwater River
This southernmost, 6 acre park has a good quality trout stream and is a perfect spot to learn to fly fish.
Cooper Creek
This park is the trailhead for the only bridle trail in the county park system. The 3 .5 - 4 mile trail winds through scenic Spencer Forest.
Creekside
Creekside Park is one of only 2 parks in the Kent County System with exercise trails. The playground equipment at this park is ideal for children under 5 years of age.
Douglas Walker
This barrier free park is ideal for large groups. It is also an access point for Kent Trails.
Dutton Shadyside
This picturesque park with its large maples is ideal for picnics on hot summer days. The open shelter, new playground equipment and tennis courts provide a wide variety of recreation opportunities.
Dwight Lydell
Fallasburg
One of only two remaining covered bridges in Kent County is located here and supports auto traffic. This park is also the site of the Fallasburg Fall Festival. This juried arts and crafts festival is sponsored by the Lowell Area Arts Council and is held every year during the last weekend in September.
Fisk Knob
This northernmost park in the Kent County Park system boasts the highest point in Kent County. Fisk Knob is no longer open anytime of the year.
Gordon
Gordon Park was the first park in the Kent County system. It was acquired in 1924 from the State of Michigan and quickly became a popular stopover for travelers. It has a faithful following of annual picnickers.
Johnson (Henry A.)
A scenic drive winds through a large section of Johnson Park. The rolling hills and winding turns make this a challenging walk. Johnson Park also maintains a boat launch onto the Grand River.
Kent Trails
Kent Trails is a 15 mile, non-motorized trail that is the result of a collaborative planning effort between the Kent County Parks Department, the cities of Grand Rapids, Grandville, Walker, Wyoming and Byron Township.
Knapp Valley Forest
This 104 acre park is undeveloped but the scenic woods host several walking trails.
Lamoreaux (Donald J.)
The parking lot on Bailey Park Drive is adjacent to the ball diamond. There is an additional parking lot north of Bailey Park Drive off Coit Avenue. This lot provides easy access to the walking trail through this park. This trail opens up to a wooden overlook of the Grand River.
Lamoreaux Memorial
This small two acre park is an ideal stopover for lunch.
Lepard Preserve
Long Lake
Long Lake Park park offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities, including a non-motorized boat launch facility.
Luton
Luton Park is a family friendly multi-use Park. The Park encompasses 264 acres, with 9.7 miles of interconnected trails. Mountain bike riding, hiking, trail running, bird watching, cross country skiing and snow shoeing are all popular activities at the park. All trails ride in a counter-clockwise direction. The trails are closed to motorized use and equestrians. Luton Park is also closed to night riding since all Kent County Parks are open only from dawn to sunset.
M-6 Trail
The M-6 Trail stretches across southern Kent County, linking Kent Trails in the west to the Paul Henry Thornapple Trail in the east. Most of the route is a dedicated paved pathway, though the center segment follows sidewalks between Division Ave. and Clyde Park Ave.
Millennium
Millennium Park is a unique, ambitious project to reclaim 1,500 acres of heavily-used land for public recreation. The park encompasses rolling terrain and extensive wetlands and lakes southwest of Grand Rapids, between Johnson Park and John Ball Park. Its land is rich in natural resources, featuring woods, wildlife, fish and waterfowl. Facilities within the park now include a six-acre beach and splashpad, nearly 20 miles of trails, and other diverse opportunities for recreation. Touching Grand Rapids, Walker, Grandville and Wyoming, Millennium Park is one of our nation's largest urban parks.
Myers Lake
Park is open from Memorial Day weekend – Labor Day weekend. This lakeside park has swimming but no boat launch is available at this site.
Palmer (Linus C.)
The boardwalk that begins at the west end of the park follows Buck Creek. It is a joint venture with the City of Wyoming. The path extends to Lamar Park (City of Wyoming).
Paris
The park consists of forest and wetlands. Plaster Creek winds through this approximately 69.6 acre park. Paris Park is undeveloped, however, there is a paved pathway that allows all visitors the opportunity to view the numerous deer and wildlife that inhabit this park. Currently Paris Park is owned by Kent County and leased to the City of Kentwood.
Pickerel Lake
This picturesque park provides ample viewing of birds and wildlife from the boardwalk and trails that wind throughout the park.
Provin Trails
Provin Trails Park is jointly operated with the City of Grand Rapids. The trails offer a challenging walk and an advanced trail for cross country skiers.
Rogue River
Rogue River Park is a staging area for White Pine Trail State Park. This staging area sports a restroom facily and parking for 100 vehicles.
Ruehs (Fred W.)
This park lies adjacent to a section of rapids on the Thornapple River. No swimming is permitted at this park.
Seidman
The trails running through Seidman Park are unbeatable for a fall walk. It is also one of the most popular cross country ski trails.
Spencer Forest
Spencer Forest Park hosts a scenic network of popular equestrian trails. This park also serves as a working model forest education program. Through the aide of volunteers, students may learn about the various components in and products from a forest.
Townsend (Warren R.)
This park is the site of the first structure built in a Kent County Park. The stone open shelter was built in 1926 and is very unique. This park is a popular site for weddings on its footbridges.
Wabasis Lake
This park boasts a boat launch onto Wabasis Lake. There is also a cottage available for weekly rental during the summer campground season. Campground Contact: (616) 691-8056
Wahlfield
The woodchip path in this park is easy for those beginning a walking program. This trail is also good for the beginning cross country skier.
WhitePine
This park is currently undeveloped.
